Stefan Rice
Manufacturing Director
Stefan’s three decades’ worth of automotive engineering experience, including for the likes of McLaren and Mercedes-Benz, ensures Phoenix’s manufacturing strategies are best-in-class. Outside of Phoenix, Stefan’s passion for aviation led him to become a qualified pilot who enjoys building his own kit planes.
Some of Stefan’s most notable projects before joining the company was his management of the supply of engines and installation systems for Brawn GP, as well as his involvement with super- and hyper-car engines.
Jack Hart
Systems Engineering Manager
Jack Hart
Systems Engineering Manager
Jack knows what it means to move through the ranks - he’s been at Phoenix since he was an apprentice electrical engineer! Now, all system designs are overseen by Jack, making sure all projects move through to the manufacturing stage flawlessly, while managing any issues that may arise – even after they leave our hands.
Taking care of installations on yachts all over the world, he’s definitely clocked up some serious miles, but what sticks in his memory is the first time he worked on a yacht: “The level of engineering involved blew me away. I am proud to have installed a centralised system on the very first Sunseeker 155!”
Jet-setting is one of the perks of the job for Jack, who loves to travel when he’s not at work, alongside playing sports and supporting Manchester United (unfortunately).

Giuliano Staffieri
Design Engineer
With a Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Industrial and Product Design, Giuliano adds more than a decade’s experience developing bespoke products for industries including agricultural, marine, construction and turf. He says: “I love the diverse and impressive range of customers we work with. Installing one of our cylinder designs for a submersible swimming pool floor at a luxury home in Dallas, Texas, is one of my favourite projects I’ve worked on.”
Giuliano gets involved right from the very beginning, transforming the concept into a reality – meeting and regularly surpassing customer requirements.
A keen sportsman, Giuliano spends time outside of work on the football field, watching Inter Milan, playing golf, and skiing when the season permits.

Angus’ interest in developing well-made and high-quality solutions for the superyacht industry is what first attracted him to Phoenix, and his expertise has proven pivotal in developing some of our most innovative systems, including tender lifts and specialised cylinders – for both the marine and industrial industries.
Angus holds a First Class Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University. If you were to catch Angus outside of work, it would most likely be on the rugby field, woodworking, or supporting the Northampton Saints.

Dave Lees
Design Manager
If you asked Dave how he got into the hydraulic manufacturing industry, he’d say, “I didn’t choose the industry, it chose me!”
Dave looks after and mentors all our Design Engineers, overseeing each detail of the products we manufacture. He worked on the first platform Phoenix ever designed, manufactured and sold to Sunseeker – setting a solid foundation for the relationship.
A self-confessed audiophile, outside of work Dave enjoys his music and putting together a high-quality set-up to listen to it through, alongside photography.

If the production floor were a ship, Chris would be its captain! His organisational skills are something to be admired, developing production schedules to meet customer demands, optimising resources – from manpower to equipment – ensuring safety compliance, as well as refining processes and procedures to improve overall efficiency and quality.
Another Phoenix veteran, Chris started with us as an apprentice welder and fabricator. He is always ready to get his hands dirty when things get busy. Outside of work Chris enjoys keeping fit, riding (and tinkering with) his motorcycle, and spending time with his family.

What John does is simple really: he identifies what needs to be done, when it needs to be done by, and how it’s going to happen. He’s Phoenix’s logistical powerhouse, motivating the team to take on any task with enthusiasm and efficiency.
During his time with Phoenix, he’s seen it all: “The work is challenging, and the company is constantly growing. Some of the projects we have taken on have seemed absolutely mammoth, but we did it. And I loved every minute!”
A larger than life character, John enjoys his food and drink, gardening and spending time with his children when he’s not at work.

Ryan’s journey into engineering was practically destined, coming from a family of engineers across various sectors. In his role, Ryan oversees the Machine Shop, handling the scheduling and managing a talented team of machinists, often working on the machines himself.
A memorable project for Ryan is the first T40 platform for Fairline, a major undertaking. Another is the integration of a DN Solutions 3100LSY lathe – achieving significant advancements in Phoenix’s operations.
Outside of work, Ryan is a Drum and Bass DJ, performing on weekends. He's also a devoted LA Kings fan, catching ice hockey games whenever he can.

As one of your first ports of call at Phoenix, Chris supports customers to identify exactly the right component for them — making sure the journey to delivery is as smooth as possible: “No two days are the same, and the industries we work with vary greatly. But, at the end of the day, I’m a people person and I like problem-solving.”
Outside of work, Chris enjoys travelling the world, restoring cars or homes, and sitting back to watch the Northampton Saints and Manchester United (when he has a spare moment).
